Most financial advisors have spent their entire careers behind a desk. I haven’t.

Based in Cohasset, my path to founding Rivermax has been anything but linear. I’ve been on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, navigated the complexities of institutional options arbitrage, and closed international data deals in Zurich. But I’ve also been in the trenches of the "builder" economy—founding a video production company, launching e-commerce stores, and navigating the high-stakes world of app startups.

I’ve lived the life of my clients. I know the weight of the "entrepreneurial urge," the complexity of equity compensation, and the unique challenges of scaling a business while raising a family.

Why Rivermax?

I founded Rivermax to be the bridge between Wall Street expertise and the specialized needs of tech professionals, solopreneurs, and SMB owners.

Early in my career, the industry was dominated by "brokers" and salespeople. Today, I’ve built Rivermax as a fiduciary firm. This means I am legally and ethically bound to put your interests first—period. I combined my decades of market experience with rigorous modern training, completing the Boston University Financial Planning Program and passing the CFP® exam to ensure my technical advice is as sharp as my real-world experience. As a CFP candidate, I’m in the process of fullfilling the experience requirement step since it requires that be within the last ten years.

  • Education: B.S. in Finance (Honors), Boston College; Completed Boston University Financial Planning Program.

  • CFP® Candidate:Passed the CFP® Exam; CFP® Certification Pending Experience Requirement. Series 65 Licensed.

  • Experience: Former Options Arbitrage Trader, NYSE/AMEX Clerk, and Knight-Ridder Market Manager.

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Founder of multiple ventures in e-commerce, web design, and app development.

Professional Bio (The Details)

  • The Early Years: After graduating with honors from Boston College, I spent a decade on Wall Street. I cut my teeth as an order clerk on the NYSE and AMEX, cycled through institutional trading desks at EF Hutton, and eventually traded options arbitrage for a New York hedge fund.

  • The Global Perspective: I served as the lead Sales Representative for Knight-Ridder Financial in Zurich, Switzerland, where I negotiated innovative, country-wide data deals for major Swiss banks.

  • The Entrepreneurial Shift: Upon returning to the U.S., I followed the same urge my clients feel today. I spent years operating businesses in video production, e-commerce, and tech startups (Movie Skits Inc. and PicnicArea.com). I’ve even spent time as a gallery-represented oil painter.

  • The Fiduciary Mission: I opened Rivermax to merge my deep market history with a modern, client-first planning approach. I am currently completing the final experience requirements for the CFP® designation, ensuring my practice remains at the forefront of the industry.
